Tower Hamlets

Spotless, well connected and everything works. As a place to work it's hard to fault — Elizabeth line, Jubilee line and the DLR all on hand. It can feel a bit corporate and quiet once the offices empty out.

Modern flats, great transport and the riverside walks are underrated. Honestly though, it can feel less cosy than other parts of London — fewer independent shops, and weekends are noticeably quieter.

Came for dinner and a look around the docks. Impressive in a clean, glassy way, and the shopping under the towers is handy in the rain. Not much character in the evenings compared to other areas.
