Brixton
I lived in Brixton for three years and still miss the energy of it. The food options are brilliant and there's always something happening, but it can be noisy late at night and the station area gets very busy. I loved the community feel, though. It never felt boring.
Clapham
The common is the big draw and it's used all year round. Plenty of pubs and places to eat, and it's popular with young professionals, which sets the tone. Weekends near the high street can be very busy and loud.
Brixton
Strong sense of community and the music and food scene is hard to beat. Transport into central is quick. It's changing quickly though, and some long-standing places have priced out, which is a shame.
Clapham
Great in your twenties — sociable, well connected and the common is lovely. I found it a bit samey after a while and the weekend crowds around the bars got tiring. Transport into town is a real plus though.
Brixton
I work near the high street and the lunch options keep me happy. It's lively and friendly during the day. Evenings around the station can feel hectic, but I've never had any trouble.
Clapham
Reliable for a catch-up with friends — easy to reach, lots of choice for food and drink. Some users appreciate the lively scene; others point out it can feel quite uniform. Both are fair.
